A member asked:

I have red bumps and redness after plucking facial hair. is it normal to still have them a day later? how long before bumps and redness go away?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Folliculitis: inflamed or infected hair follicles usually from contaminated tweezers. I suggest boiling your tweezers and after cooling down, wipe with rubbing alcohol: do this a least weekly. Use 1% OTC hydrocortisone cream on the reddened areas; however, if pus forms, you will need antibiotics.
