With diverticulitis they say eat fibre for soft stools, but wouldnt softer and squishy stool go into a hole a lot easier? just like cement into hole

Unlikely : Fiber helps forming bulk and by the time it reaches the diverticulum area it is not a loose fiber anymore, so don't worry about sealing the hole, wish you wellness
