had unprotected anal sex with a partner on prep, however they may have had other partners before me that day. does their prep prevent transmission?

Protect them: Prep should protect the person who took it from infection but not necessarily the partner. But if taking prep to prevent infection in all likelihood is not infectious themselves. Suggest using condoms to prevent possible transmission if infectios status of partner is unknown
