Abdominal pain and cramps spreading to the side and lower back?

Cramps : Firstly I would try to sort out if these are intestinal cramps or uterine/menstrual. If you are having any changes in bowel habits, this indicates more bowel origin. If not, then the "female" organs should be considered as source of the cramping. Pain in the abdomen can radiate to the back. If you have any blood in stool, persistent diarrhea, unusual discharge from the vagina, or fever, go to ED.

More info needed: Your symptoms, as listed, are nonspecific. Right lower abdominal discomfort may be due to appendicitis, especially if there is tenderness. Left lower pain with tenderness suggests diverticulitis of the colon. Right upper pain may be from gall bladder If abdominal distress, especially with associated tenderness, persists it warrants a prompt evaluation by a physician preferably in the emergency room
