Injury to membrane: you need to see an ENT specialist to clarify. Tissue in these membrane should regrow, but your symptoms suggests there may be some issues with the nerve system. You will need imaging as part of your valuation.

Does hapoen: And may stay for sometime, loss of smell (anosmia) / taste (cacosmia) may complicate some viral illness, would take its couse of weeks, probably months, but does return to normal, if concernd check ENT specialist/neurologist for reassurance, wish you well and good luck

Sinus infection?: Although it is possible to lose a sense of smell or taste after a viral infection, sinusitis needs to be ruled out also. Talk to your doctor or see ENT
