A member asked:

I have kaisar insurance but they are charging about 800.00 or more for a coloscopy...are there any other cheaper ways to get a colonoscopy?

Yes: You can always ask your physician to decrease the facility fee or the professional fee for your procedure.

Shop around: If is a screening colonoscopy (as opposed to a diagnostic procedure) the co-pay should be very little if anything. I would discuss with your insurance company and see what options you may have. Otherwise speaking with facility itself may be worthwhile.
