Yes: With very few exceptions, the generic version is the same as the brand, only cheaper.

Depends: In the USA where most of us are based the FDA requires that generics maintain active potency of at least 95% of the brand drug. The same standard may apply in your country but we do not have access to that information. I rarely use any brand meds myself since I consider them over priced & equivalent.
