Dry Socket: A common result of removal of wisdom teeth is a condition called a dry socket. The blood clot in the socket degenerated leaving the bone of the socket inflamed and exposed. This is a condition that you immediately need to see the doctor who removed the wisdom tooth to place medication into the socket on a small piece of gauze. That will usually promote healing and reduce the pain.
