Menstrual headache: Headaches are common when menstruating, as a form of PMS (pre-menstrual syndrome) which is caused by rapid drop in estrogen, just prior to the onset of bleeding. Stress at this time can cause constriction of arterial blood supply to the brain, which can lead to headaches. If the headache persists, see your physician, who may order a CT or MRI.
