A member asked:

Can you get the hpv vaccine after you turn 26 yrs?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: The vaccine was approved by the FDA in the USA for ages 9-26 based on the research provided for approval. It is likely very effective in producing protective antibodies in any person with a mature immune system. The vaccine is a series of 3 doses & is expensive. Many 3rd party insurers will only pay for use within the 9-26 yo age group. After 26 you may have to cover the cost out of pocket.
