Low dose bcp's: Low dose oral contraceptives ( like "YAZ") need to be taken punctually the next day, within the hour of the last active pill taken, or withdrawal from the estrogen which can cause "mood swings" and "hot flashes". Stop the active pills now, wait 5 days, and start a new package. If your symptoms persist, ask your doctor to prescribe a different oral contraceptive.
