A member asked:

Hi. im 43 years old. can i still get the hpv vaccination? ive heard that if youve had children you cannot have the vaccination - is this true?

Maybe: The original approval for this vaccine in the US was for ages 9-26 as a target to help avoid HPV related problems long before exposure. US insurers seldom if ever pay for the pricey vaccine for any other age group. It is not a treatment for HPV so it does not help anyone already infected with any of the strains in the vaccine. That said, it could help protect someone at any age over 9.
