Foreign material : Infants or children with vaginal discharge often have retained foreign material trapped inside that triggers the drainage. I have see this be feces, toilet tissue or unrecognizable gunk. Minor amounts might respond to paddling clean water into the vagina in the bath. Persistence would require a direct exam. This may be done in the office or if needed under anesthesia (by OBGYN).
