How accurate is an ultrasound for measuring the size of an abdominal umbilical hernia? i want to know what kind of variation to expect if i have a 2nd

Cause? Symptoms?: US is accurate & reproducible, esp if done in same place. Why do you have the hernia? From birth? Or is there a more recent cause. Most umbilical hernias in adults are simply repaired to prevent emergency obstruction or strangulation. Why isn't it being fixed? If you've decided to not to fix it, increasing size or pain, nausea, vomiting or other symptoms is important. Hope this helps.
