Avoid stimulant Lax.: According to the American Pregnancy Association, 50 percent of women experience constipation at some point during their pregnancy. Laxatives can be effective, however, stimulant laxatives such as senna may be best avoided. Talk to your doctor before using laxatives
Senna has been assigned to pregnancy category C by the FDA. Animal studies have failed to reveal evidence of teratogenicity.
