Can be common: There can many reasons for bumps there and if concerned see a Doctor.Sometimes there can be cysts there that can get infected.The more common thing that happens in the armpit area is micro abscesses or abcesses from blocked hair ducts or sweat glands in which you do warm compresses to the areas to get them draining.Sometimes need oral antibiotics.Other possibilities are lymph nodes.

Agree with Dr. K: One additional issue may be that the lumps are enlarged nodes. You may feel the lumps periodically, if either lump doubles in size, becomes painful, ulcerates, or other lumps develop , or you develop fever, or lose weight, you should see a doctor.
