A member asked:

The same flu virus goes into 2 persons. 1 person gets sick, the other doesn't. why?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Some basics: An individuals response to a specific flu virus will be influenced by several factors. An past flu strain infections can help build some basic antibody responses to any similar parts of the new strain. The same for any past or current flu shots. No 2 persons have identical antibody responses to any illness, and this has been verified in the lab. One may have minimal if any symptoms, the other all.
