A member asked:

I need advice regarding contraception as i am getting married soon. i read an article with damning reports about the effects of the long term effects of the pill & depo on the body. my dilemma is that we want kids only later. are there other options?

Yes: IUD's have some of the best success rates, are expensive and placement uncomfortable but give you protection without much effort after insertion. Today's products are also quite safe. Pills & depo are fine when selected correctly based on your personal/family history. Condoms work but are not as dependable. I would meet with your doc & go over your concerns before choosing what is best for you.
