Best to eat ...: 69 y/o says Hubby did not eat for entire day & felt dizzy, etc. N/F sugar was 52. Ate and was fine in 10 min. Random readings good. Can this be a 1 time thing? Could be only one time if he stops going all day without eating & possibly drinking fluids. The chances for recurrence are higher if he goes without food. Best to eat regular meals x 3 daily.

Yes, possible: The low blood sugar may be from the interaction between whichever diabetes medications he’s on and a lack of carbohydrates that day. Without knowing what he’s on, it’s hard to predict, but it *is* possible that this will be the only time if he closely follows his glucose. If he goes low again, it’s not a bad idea to start carrying candy like Life-Savers with him for a quick source of sugar.
