When you have anemia: of any type, it is best to determine a NEED for IRON prior to taking iron supplements. A simple blood test is all that's necessary. Speak with your PCP about this issue. Hope this is helpful! BE WELL! Dr Z

See below: Hemolytic anemia per se does not respond to iron. Hemolytic anemia is generally not associated with iron deficiency and taking iron may lead to iron overload. As suggested by Dr. Z, it would be prudent to discuss it with your doctor or a hematologist.
