PMS ?: Pre-menstrual syndrome occurs at the end of cycles as estrogen levels drop suddenly. The symptoms you describe may indicate pelvic infection, so see your gyn provider if symptoms persist for an exam and culture. The breast tenderness may be caused by a double ovulation which has twice the estrogen produced, and will stimulate breast tissue more than usual.
