Uterine prolapse ?: Uterine prolapse occurs usually following multiple pregnancies, and the "bulky tissue" may be the tip of the womb, which is the cervix, appearing between the lips of the vagina. This can be surgically corrected, but you should see a pelvic reconstructive surgeon and inquire about a retro-peritoneal uterine suspension (attaching the uterus to the sacrum), to avoid a hysterectomy.
