I have gotten my period 3 times this month. it has never happened before. is there a medical condition causing this?

Abnormal bleeding: Bleeding as described may be due to pregnancy outside the uterus (ectopic) so obtain a serum HCG test to make certain. If you are on oral bcp's, and have not maintained a punctual schedule, the bleeding may be a result, in which case stop the oral bcp's, wait five days, and start a new pack, but take them within the hour of taking the prior active pill to prevent such from occurring.
