Period pain: If you are not taking a combination oral contraceptive, "period pain" may be extreme if you have endometriosis. Some urinary tract infections can be almost as uncomfortable, so ask your gyn physician for an exam and urine culture, as well as a test for herpes I and II, which can simulate bladder infections. You may also need a laparoscopic exam while on period to detect endometriosis.
