Orange stool: Yellowish or tan colored stool may be seen with softer than usual stool and may not be serious unless it persists. Orange stool is the next step before stool changes to Brown color in the colon. However if it persists it could be from certain foods, vitamin,supplements. A more serious cause of persistent orange stool is lack of bile salts due to pathology in the biliary or pancreatic areas. See MD
