A member asked:

I just had a pelvic exam and they found yeast. do i need to tell my partner to get tested and treated for yeast as well? is it still ok to have sex?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tell but no test: Vaginal yeast infections are localized and usually non transferable to a male/female partner. As a matter of courtesy and since he/she is "sharing" the vaginal space, telling him/her that you are in the process of a treatment application is helpful to avoid intercourse until the infection is cleared.
