A member asked:

I have had a runny stomach for the last 3 weeks can it be hiv symptoms?? i also have a runny nose which i am not sure is caused by sinus or hiv???

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Many possibilities: People with HIV are very susceptible to infection, but diarrhea and nasal congestion are very common findings and can be caused by multiple infections and conditions. If you have had high risk sexual behavior and do not know your HIV status, it should be done. Most viral causes of diarrhea last less than 2 weeks, so it is reasonable to get a check up and your doctor can decide re testing.
