A member asked:

Is there a magical auto fitness deivce that makes my legs move while sitting or standing at desk to prevent pulmonary embolism?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

There are: multiple retail devices being sold which claim to do this. All are of questionable efficacy and either have not been studied or the studies are of poor quality. The best way to prevent deep venous thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolus (PE) while sitting for prolonged periods is to move. Get up. Stretch. Take walk breaks every hour. Hope this helps!
