A member asked:

I have an active infection of hpv. can i take immunosuppressants to treat my arthritis? how can i prevent hpv flare up.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

HPV: With active HPV, ask your internist or rheumatologist about immunosuppressants while having an active viral infection. The use of some forms of immunosuppressant therapy can both exaggerate the number and locations of HPV lesions, and in some cases, hasten conversion to cancerous forms of HPV. See an oncologist to plan a strategy.
