A member asked:

My menstrual cycle length fluctuates. some months it is 28 days, others as long as 35 days. is this normal? what is considered irregular?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Menstrual cycle: The female menstrual cycle can fluctuate from 24 to 35 days apart secondary to delayed ovulation in some cycles. Over 35, it is more common to have delayed ovulation, as the eggs require more stimulation to become mature in order to ovulate, delaying the onset of menses. At 30 it is not uncommon for intervals to change on occasion. Ask your gyn provider about oral bcp's.
