A member asked:

Does viral bronchitis have a fever? if so, for how long is considered normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Viral infections: can last between 2-8 days, depending on the virus and location of infection. For bronchitis, you will likely not have fever after day 3-5 but may have cough for 1-2 weeks, sometimes a whole month. Inflammation which causes the cough can last many weeks after the initial infection. On average expect 5-10 day cough as long as you don't have underlying asthma or COPD or other lung disease.
