Have been booked off with gastroenteritus for last 5 days. still have watery diarrhea...meant to go back to work tomorrow. am i still contagious or should i get dr to book me off for rest of week? (i work as a teacher in a high school)

Gastroenteritis: If this is a viral intestinal tract infection rather than food poisoning, you are still contagious although you were most contagious at the onset of symptoms. Control the diarrhea by avoiding harsh roughage in your diet and take kaopectate or Imodium as needed. Good hygiene after bowel movements minimizes contagion. Go to work when loose bm's subside.
