Cough: Most common cause of a cough so hard it makes you vomit is whooping cough (diphtheria). Are you up to date on vaccination? It is usually given along with a tetanus shot. A few other possible causes include allergy, exposure to environmental toxins, and gastrointestinal reflux (GERD). Finding the cause will take some investigation on your part.
