Many issues: If this just started use sarna lotion. There is no reason for itching to be painful and for this reason i think it may be a chronic problem for you and a doctor visit is in order. Peeling skin, redness, and other symptoms may also occur and a doctor would be able to look at it and give you an idea of what it is and what is causing it.
