Depends on doctor: This question will depend on the experience level and type of practice of your Obgyn. It is reasonable to ask them and have that conversation. Some Obgyns may refer a circumvallate placenta out to an MFM. Others who have in office sonogram capabilities may not refer out and simply perform serial growth monitoring scans themselves.
