Honey: Some persons believe that by eating locally collected honey that pollen contained in the honey will help to make them resistant to allergic plants. (desensitize them). Bees collect pollen primarily from flowering plants that require the bee to carry the pollen to other plants; these pollens are not typically airborne and therefore are not the plants that typically cause respiratory allergy.
