Possibly pinworms?: A call to one's doctor will help. A person gets pinworms by swallowing pinworm eggs (accidentally). This occurs when she puts her fingers or hands into her mouth after getting an egg or two (or more) on her fingers or under her nails. If pinworms, there is over-the-counter medication (Reese's pyrantel) and also prescription medication (Vermox mebendazole).

Threadworm/pinworm: These threadlike human only parasites live in your colon. The pregnant worm exits the anus & lays eggs there in a glue like substance that triggers itching. You can help the itching with a cold water wash & hydrocortizone cream. There is over the counter pinworm meds you can buy on your own. Give treatment a week or so,if that doesn't help you can ask your doc for meds.
