Neurologist: Inflammation of the brachial nerve(brachial neuritis) can cause this pattern of pain. Impingement of a nerve root at a vertebra by a disc or spur is another possibility. I recommend an evaluation by a neurologist. Xray, mri,emg are studies that may be recommended. Your physician can check your armpit for pathology as well as enlarged lymph gland is not usually an associated finding.
