Although there: have been some "theoretical" long term adverse effects with the taking of PPI's (Proton Pump Inhibitors) such as Nexium the fact that the first drug in this class is now available OTC without a Prescription shows that no long term adverse effects have been proven! Hope this iinformation is helpful! BTW this medication may have INTERACTIONS with OTHER medicatons (for example Plavix) !
