Yes: Throat pain can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold or influenza (Tamiflu may be used for influenza), or from another cause such as allergies, irritants, or stomach acid reflux. One might see a doctor if a sore throat gets very painful or doesn't go away quickly (mainly to check for strep). Viral illnesses, stomach acid problems, and strep can all cause some nausea.
