Ibuprofen: The issue is not uncommon. The same nerve that serves the gums also serves the eardrum & nearby structures. It is hard sometimes to decide which is triggering the pain because ear issues can trigger tooth/gum pain. It is usually inflammation which ibuprofen may help. A visit to your dentist is a good idea.
