Generic has same med: Per the FDA, generic medications are required to have the same medication, strength, and dosage as the brand. Sometimes a slight change (such as brand to generic) will cause spotting for the first month or so. The generic should be as effective as the brand. All birth control methods have a small risk of pregnancy. If spotting persists, contact your doctor with your concerns.
