A member asked:

Can pelvic inflammatory disease go away without treatment?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pelvic ID: Pelvic inflammatory disease ("PID") is a general term for pelvic infection caused by bacterial transmission through sexual activity. Although it can subside over time in some cases, it is best to secure treatment from a physician, as PID can cause adhesions, pain and possible surgery , as well as infertility. If you suspect this, see your gyn provider for an exam and testing.
