Penetration: There are a variety of causes of difficulty with intercourse. Anatomic causes should be ruled out by a gynecologist. Some women have involuntary muscle spasms called vaginismus. Some have difficulty with lubrication and increased foreplay, masturbation or the addition of a sexual lubricant can be applied. This is a complex issue and a one on one discussion would likely be more useful
