I had a c-section 5 months ago and opted to go onto the 3 month injection as i've never had a period. i had my follow up injection and never bleed, however last week i started experiencing period like cramps and slowly started bleeding and still are.

Normal: The progesterone in "the shot" is continuing to thin down the uterine lining. The bleeding should stop in the next 2-3 days, up to a week; sometimes it can be longer. Certainly if the bleeding last more than 2 weeks and/or the bleeding is heavy, consideration can be given to taking some estrogen to stabilizing the lining of the uterus. You will need to talk with your doctor about this.
