Gentian violet: Gentian violet is an intensely purple dye with anti-fungal properties. It is available in many locations without a prescription as a 1-2% solution. It is swabbed directly on the areas involved. It is quite messy and will stain clothing permanently. You might want to consider a prescribed med that is less of a mess.
