Excessive cerumen: Have your ears cleaned by your doctor or ent specialist.

Can be: The amount and texture of your ear wax is influenced by genetic factors. It is produced by oil glands in the skin of the canal and protects that skin from external water penetration. I would ignore it.

It can be normal: Be careful about Q-tips in the ear. As besides the issues around irritating the ear canal or accidents with the ear drum, some persons actually push wax deeper into the ear canal instead of "scooping" it out.

Normal: No benefit from removal of cerumen unless it forms a tight plug.
