Anal itch: This may be caused by presence of some perianal dermatitis, sensitivity to toilet paper or friction from vigorous anal cleaning after a bowel movement, external hemorrhoids or a condition called lichen sclerosus. Applying a cortisone type ointment alleviates most of these conditions. See your physician or a proctologist as needed.
