Time will tell!: The color of a scarred/damaged area can change over time. It takes 6 months to a year for the final scar appearance. In the meantime do not get the scar sunburned as that can make the discoloration permanent. Don't overscrub or pick at the area either. If the discoloration is still present after a year, then see a plastic surgeon or dermatologist for treatment. Hopefully the scar' will fade.
