A member asked:

If i had a wart on my finger in childhood and i was bathing but it didnt transfer to my genital does it mean i have hpv now and i am contagious?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not the same: Of the many dozens of hpv strains, two strains are known to cause genital warts, 7+ strains that are associated with cervical cancer and far more strains not associated at this time with anything. Therefore, you can have hpv without having genital warts.
